TOOTH EXTRACTIONS – NEW BRAUNFELS, TX
ANXIETY-FREE TOOTH REMOVALS
Being told that you need to have a tooth removed can be a frightening prospect, but rest assured that we’ll never make such a recommendation unless we absolutely need to (as in situations where salvaging the tooth is unfeasible). On the day of the procedure, Dr. Albrecht will use his expertise and gentle touch to ensure that everything goes as smoothly as possible. Be sure to get in touch with us right away if you think you have a dental issue that might require an extraction.

COMMON REASONS FOR TOOTH EXTRACTION
- Tooth Decay: Minor cavities can be corrected with a filling while more serious infections can often be treated with root canal therapy. If none of these options are viable, however, the tooth might need to be removed.
- Extensive Damage: Normally, a broken tooth is only extracted if it has been damaged in a way that prevents us from restoring it.
- Orthodontic Preparations: When the teeth are crowded together, extracting a tooth may be necessary to create room for adjustment.

HOW TOOTH EXTRACTIONS WORK
Your mouth will be numbed at the very start of the procedure so that you won’t experience discomfort; you may also receive additional forms of sedation if needed. A simple extraction involves loosening the tooth before taking it out of the mouth with forceps. Surgical extractions, on the other hand, require us to remove small amounts of gum and bone tissue so that we can access a tooth that has become impacted or one that has broken off beneath the gum line.
